|
| What is Accumo Classifier? |
|
Accumo Classifier automatically organizes text information into
intuitive groups called "clusters". The text information can come from any data source,
such as search engine results, news, forums, documents and content management systems.
It is a Java component with a simple-to-use Java API and can easily
be integrated with your organization's information system.
|
| What are the benefits of using Accumo Classifier? |
|
Once information has been classified into clusters, a user can zoom in to relevant information quickly.
For example, most search engines display search results in long lists spanning many pages.
It is time consuming to browse through these pages looking for what you want. You may
lose concentration after a few pages. Do you remember spending hours in front of the computer doing searches?
Accumo Classifier can help. It automatically summarizes all search results into
relevant conceptual categories (i.e., cluster titles) on-the-fly so that the user can zoom in to relevant links quickly.
Users are able to find their information more quickly since they can now browse through more pages without getting mental fatigue.
Effectively, a user can now search faster and dig deeper than before.
In today's knowledge-based economy, having information
that others don't have, or simply having it faster, will
give you a definite competitive edge.
|
| In what other ways can Accumo Classifier help me? |
|
The usages of Accumo Classifier are almost limitless. Some
ideas are:
- Enhance your intranet search engine.
- Enhance the search features of your document and content management system.
- Categorize retail items on an e-commerce site.
- Categorize e-mail.
- Categorize inventory items.
- Categorize any text-based data.
|
| What if the workers in my company are not used to working with clustered results? |
|
That's fine. Offering a clustered view of search results
takes up little screen space (just check out our
demo). Once you've deployed Accumo
Classifier on your organization's search page, workers
can keep working the traditional way initially, but
once they start working with clustered result sets, we
believe that they will never want to go back.
|
| What platforms/environments are supported by Accumo Classifier? |
|
Accumo Classifier is written in Java, so it runs on any
platform for which a Java environment is available.
You can conveniently deploy it using any application server,
such as BEA Weblogic, Websphere and open source Apache Tomcat. It can be used with JDK 1.3 or JDK 1.4.
It can also be deployed in a .NET environment when used together with a.NET-Java interops products,
such as JNBridge, which support deployment
of Java components in a .NET environment.
